Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Experience

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Experience tour spans 7.5km over Australia's pristine tropical rainforests. You'll glide just metres above the rainforest canopy before descending through the canopy layers and deep into the heart of the forest at Skyrail's two rainforest mid-stations for the ultimate tropical rainforest experience. A Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Experience will take approximately 1 and a half hours one way, or 2 and a half hours return.

Skyrail can be easily packaged with a number of Cairns' other leading attractions, creating a unique and versatile day tour. A popular option is to combine your journey with Kuranda Scenic Railway. Built over 100 years ago, this historic train winds its way through the mountains between Cairns and Kuranda. Kuranda Scenic Railway also offers a Gold Class upgrade on selected services. Gold Class is a specially built carriage designed for comfort featuring larger viewing windows, food and beverage service to your seat, expanded audio-visual commentary system and a special gift pack.

Itinerary

Smithfield Terminal: Skyrail's Smithfield Terminal is located just 15 minutes from Cairns and 50 minutes from Port Douglas and provides a convenient embarkation or disembarkation point.

Red Peak Station: As you approach your first rainforest mid-station, Red Peak, your gondola will descend through the canopy layers and take you deep in the forest. Here, Skyrail's Rangers provide regular guided boardwalk tours sharing their knowledge on these ancient tropical forests.

Easy access walkways at Barron Falls Station take you to three separate lookouts providing breathtaking views of Barron Gorge and Barron Falls.
