Quicksilver Wavepiercer Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise
On this Great Barrier Reef Cruise that departs from Port Douglas you will be able to explore the very edge of Australia's continental shelf, Agincourt Reef, a magnificent ribbon reef with incredible coral and marine life. The reef provides a sheltered anchorage for the Quicksilver vessel and the ideal spot for guests to snorkel, dive or stay dry in the semi submersible coral viewing vessel. You can also watch the fish feeding from Quicksilver's unique underwater viewing platform and underwater observatory, or fly in a helicopter over the reef.
Quicksilver operates two very powerful high speed Wavepiercer catamarans which slice through rather than riding over the waves. These vessels are extremely comfortable and stable whilst traveling at high speeds. They cover the 78 kilometres from Port Douglas to the Agincourt reef in just 90 minutes at speeds approaching 30 knots.
9.30: Complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. For your safety, hot drinks are not served once the vessel is underway. Passengers are required to be aboard the vessel 15 minutes before departure.
10.00: Depart The Reef Marina for the Outer Barrier Reef. A Marine Biologist presentation is shown on the vessel monitors 30 minutes after departure. A snorkelling demonstration follows the Marine Biologist presentation.
11.30: Arrive Outer Barrier Reef - reef activities commence. Enjoy swimming and snorkelling from submerged platforms. Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing. Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform. Pre-booked guided snorkelling tours, certified and introductory diving and helicopter scenic flights. Fish feeding conducted at the snorkelling platform at advertised times.
12.00: Lunch is served. Enjoy a hot and cold tropical buffet, containing fresh prawns, pastas, meats, salads and fruit. There are full bar facilities available where you can purchase drinks.
